Do You Feel Like a Failure When Others Reject You

Rejection is a fact of life. There is no need to be shocked or surprised about it. Instead learn how to face it.

When someone rejects you should it make you feel inferior or like a failure? Absolutely not. What you need to realize is that you have a life ahead of you. If you keep working towards worthy goals without losing heart, a day will come when people who rejected you might find you promoted.

However, a fairy tale ending is not always guaranteed. Again, if at all you are rejected, have no thoughts of revenge. It is foolishness. Each person has a right to choose and say no to you even as you have every right to ask for acceptance. Respect others freedom to do so.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Rejection sometimes is not a one-time affair. As often thought, it is not limited to rejection of proposals–personal or business. Instead it can be a daily affair within marriage relationship, parents rejecting children to spend time chatting, and adults rejecting the elderly in the sunset years of their lives.

Rejection can also come when you fail to live up to expectations. One thing you need to realize is that you have to be true to your calling in life; you need to maximize the talent and potential God has put within you; and you need to do all that you can to excel in life. But even when you do so, you may not be dancing to the tunes others are playing for you. And it is natural that others will reject you.

Rejection therefore should fuel in you a desire to achieve something worthwhile in life. Well, just think about some great works of literature that might never have got published if the authors stopped writing when they got a few rejection notes. I just chose this example but examples are not limited to this field alone.

Therefore the right approach to rejection is to keep a positive attitude and frame of mind. Do not keep your eyes on the closed door. Other opportunities will come. Do not miss them by brooding over the past.

Let me encourage you by saying that whatever rejection you face from others there is Someone who accepts you the way you are right now. His estimate about your life is not based on your beauty or wisdom or riches or positions achieved in life.

God loves you. And you are of infinite worth in his eyes. About Jesus, who loves you, it is written: “He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” Again, “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.”

Therefore you always have a friend in him when you are rejected. He understands what you are passing through.

It Is No Secret: You Can Be a Man or Woman of Impact!

If you wish to be a man or woman of impact,
If you wish to do a few some good,
If you wish that others remember you long after you are gone,
Then listen my friend to what wisdom has got to say.

Listen to your heart;
It will tell you what you love to do with joy.
Listen to God;
He will open doors and guide you one step at a time.
Listen to critics;
They will tell you how you will never make it.
Smile then. It is just a test of your resolve.
Listen to friends;
There will be one or two to believe in your dream.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Then begin your long journey forward.
Do not think your cause is lost when there are a few setbacks.
No dreamer has made it without some loss.
But it is the joy of doing good,
The thrill of making a difference,
The thought of change you are going to bring about
That will keep you going strong.

As time moves on,
Learn to say No
To all that does not add
Anything worth to what you want to get done in life.
You might not be able to please all,
Some who stood with you will no longer along with you walk–
For when you climb higher
The more lonely you are!

It is tough
When people say bad things
About the good you want to do.
But that is part of the game you chose to play
To be a man or woman of impact.

If you truly love to make an impact,
You have to focus hard;
And be single-eyed with no other lesser goals in mind.
But with one aim move on.
Do not scatter light
But shine it with a steady beam!

You can be sure that somewhere down the line
A few will follow your light
And make it shine once more during a darker night!

You Are Not Alone in Your Struggle Against Inferiority Complex

Some hurts in life keep hurting for long.
Some hurts can never be shared. You bear it all alone.
Some hurts come because of our own fully.
A few others because some others did something bad to you over which you had no control.

It is difficult to forgive or forget.
It is still difficult to erase memories.
It is most difficult to get over the feel that I am not good enough.

We all need help. Sometimes we have friends to stand along with us. But they cannot fight the waves of negativity that dump trash and garbage of the past into our minds repeatedly.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Let me be honest here. There are no magical solutions to the problem. The battle to win over inferiority complex can be a life-long one.

Rejection, abuse faced as a child, being made fun of by others, financial difficulties, unfair comparisons, negative labelling, failure in exams, and plenty of other reasons contribute to inferiority complex.

Now let me try to specify a few attitudes that can help:

The first one is that your life is precious. It has a purpose. If you believe that you can make a difference, you still can.

Secondly, do not try to get rid of inferiority complex. I doubt whether you can fully get rid of it. But instead of thinking of it as an enemy let us try to utilise it creatively. It can give you a killer instinct to win in life.

Thirdly, forget the past. It does not help you in any way to recap all the bad episodes time and again. Instead look forward with hope.

Finally, seek God’s help. You might be having anger against God for allowing all those negatives in your life. Agreed, you have every right to feel so.

But he is still standing there to help. Therefore ask for help. He will use all that darkness in your life to build character in you.

Beyond all this, if you allow it, God can bless others through the brokenness in your life. It might take a long time, but he will also make the burden of your memories light!

In conclusion, let me tell you that inferiority complex is not a problem that is solved in a moment’s time. Sometimes it can be a lifelong battle. Those who are suffering from inferiority complex need not lose heart if the struggle seems too long drawn out. There is yet hope. Do not despise yourself. But be thankful that you can still make a positive and creative difference in the lives of others in spite of struggling with feelings of inferiority!

I Believe in Failures! Coach Impacts a Defeated Team with this Inspiring Speech!

I talk to you today because I’ve been there.
Not once or twice, but many times.

I know what it feels like to be discouraged.
I know what it feels like being a failure.
I know what it feels like when all around you people are full of fun and happiness but you are down.

Yes friends, discouragement has put more people in the side benches than have casualties in war.
It has sapped the strength of talented people committed to their cause and calling.
It has taken away from people their confidence.
It has made people forget that there is a purpose for which they can live for.

I hope I am not speaking to listeners far away, but to you.
Yes, to you, who now with dropping shoulders stand before me with that desperate look in your eyes as if there is no tomorrow.

Let me thunder in your ears.
The night shall not remain.
The dawn will break.
And you shall rise from your bed of despair with renewed strength and hope.

First of all, know that someone believes in you.
Yes, I along with God, believe in failures.
I believe your rotten performance today cannot erase what you truly are within you.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Secondly, recall your best moments.
Recollect your preparation, enthusiasm and hard work that made it happen.
Simply believe it can happen again.
But believing alone is not enough.
Take that one small step.
Do not wait for inspiration.
Your first step to once again do what you always did best will soon gather momentum.
Soon you will be back into winning ways again.

Hey team, you are talented; but talent will not take you places.
What you need is grit.
A game lost; a trophy not won is not the end of life.
Fame is a bubble; when for a moment all lights flash on you.
But today, we show character when all eyes are turned away from us.
Yes, we choose, to stay undefeated in our failures!

If You Find Making Decisions Difficult, This Is a Must-Read Speech!

All of us have struggled at some point in life in taking decisions; haven’t we? In this short speech let me outline a few simple practical steps to take decisions.

First you need information. Collect it from as many sources as possible. When collecting information from the internet make sure it is credible. Then list out information that is most compelling which you cannot ignore.

Secondly list out the positives and negatives. Know that every decision has consequences. Try to think through all that can happen in favour of your decision and against.

Next you have to assess time available. To take some decisions you get days or even months. For some other decisions like applying sudden brake while driving; you get hardly a split second.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Having collected information, listed out pros and cons, and assessed time available; you need to start eliminating choices. There are obvious items in your list that you now know can be discarded easily. Once this is done, you are left with toughly competing choices.

It is at this time courage fails. The voices of your critics and people who constantly advice against your dreams and ambitions will sound loud in your mind. And you will feel like being pulled apart in all directions.

At this time asking friends and experienced people might be helpful. Sometimes such conversations can throw light on some grey areas. That will ease your struggle a bit and give you peace of mind.

Then there is the question of motives. Are you taking a particular decision because you have some hidden agenda? For example you might say that you want to study at a far away reputed University. But the real motive might be to enjoy independence and be away from home. Examples like this are many. So find out your true motives before you decide.

Equally important is what to do when you are put under pressure. Let me tell you point blank that when people put pressure on you to take decisions; the safe answer is a bold NO! In case it is a mistaken decision you can easily change that to an Yes; can’t you?

Now it is time to understand that you should learn to discern between major and minor decisions. If you are someone who spent a lot of time analyzing what to eat for breakfast or whether to carry an umbrella with you; then you have a problem. Be decisive in taking decisions; and start that habit with the simple decisions you make each day. That will help you make a clear decision for a major choice someday.
Finally, I cannot emphasize enough about trust and dependence on God in taking decisions. The Bible says,
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.”*

Have You Made the Most Important Decision of Your Life Yet?

In no way does it minimize or do away with all the intelligent thinking you have to do. But a pilot of an aeroplane finds safety in being guided by instructions from the control tower. All you need is a listening ear and willingness to obey.

And at the end of the day some decisions affect you; some others. A few decisions affect the present time and your future; while certain decisions affect eternity. Make sure that you don’t sacrifice your future by making a wrong decision for a momentary pleasure today.

*Proverbs 3:5, 6 Bible NASB

How to Move On in Life In Spite Of Mistakes Made

Life is a journey.
However hard we try there is no way to reverse the journey and start from the beginning again one more time.

So what about mistakes made?
What about opportunities lost?
What about relationships that turned sour or broke apart?

Who is to blame?
If we put the blame on others, however true that might be, it is not going to help in any way at all. The best thing to do is to own responsibility.

Now, what does that mean?
It simply means that we decide to accept the reality of all that happened.
It means to refuse to give up.
It means that we refuse to bow down to negative circumstances.
It means to get up and make the best of the rest of our lives.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Is that easy? I don’t think so. Our emotions come to play. They often try to move us to self-pity. They make us feel we are helpless victims and hopeless failures.

Emotions keep us tied to our past hurts and don’t allow us to think of creative solutions. Never for a moment yield to the lie that you are not good enough. The truth is that the Bible says, “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”* See, God has placed immense value on you even with all your cracks and faults and shortcomings.

Therefore take command. Order your emotions to stay behind. They are the servants to your will. Keep your emotions chained; that however much they bark they shouldn’t be let to run loose to bite.

Now it is time to do three things:

One, trust God to lead and guide you. He cares for you. He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you* even as you trust in him.

Two, lift up your head and look around. You will find that there is much left in the journey of life for you to enjoy. So many of us are just concerned about the destination. It is more important to travel hopefully, joyfully and enthusiastically the different stages of the journey. Be like a child seeing the world around for the first time.

Three, pick up the broken strands of relationships. Wherever possible tie them back together and have a fresh start in life. Forgive as much as God gives you the grace to forgive. Let not your emotions decide what is love, but let your decision to love make your emotions feel the same.

Not one of these steps is going to work like magic. It takes time to repair the dents and repaint a car that is badly hit. How much more your life!

But be patient. Persist in thinking good. The journey is still a long way to go. It might be that before the sun sets the skies will paint a glorious canvas just for you!

Then your tears will be wiped away. Your faith will be rewarded. Many will also have found life to be worth living because you struggled, prevailed, and won at the end of it!

A Simple Short Motivational Speech for Little Children on Ants from the Book of Proverbs

Respected Teacher and my dear friends,

Isn’t it amazing that for every one human being there might be around 1 million ants in the world. So today, let us learn something from these common ordinary creatures.

Go to the ant. It is a tiny creature. But it is able to accomplish so many things.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Go to the ant. It stores its food in summer. That means it makes hay while the sun shines or it is storing provisions for difficult days ahead. In other words it has great foresight.

Go to the ant. It has tremendous perseverance. As you look closely at the ants moving, you find that they will not quit until they overcome obstacles somehow.

Go to the ant. It shows amazing teamwork. Together, they are able to carry loads that will surprise us. They unite and motivate each other to achieve common goals.

Go to the ant. They keep on communicating with each other. Have you not seen in how short a time the news of availability of some food is conveyed by one ant to many. The unselfishness of ants make them wonderful communicators.

Go to the ant and learn said Solomon the Wise King and Teacher. How wonderful it is that God our Creator has shown us wisdom through such tiny creatures as ants!

Thank You!

2 Minute Speech on That One Word Every Young Girl Should Be Bold to Speak!

Red says STOP. When the light is red, do not act; do not move, do not proceed. You can escape so many tears and heartbreaks in life; if you simply learn to see Red.

There are many who will offer you your tomorrow today. And you might feel the irresistible pull to go along.

But wait a minute. Did you forget to see the colour Red? Did you forget that one simple yet power-packed word you can and should say? NO! “No” is the bold word you should say when you see red!

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Remember that the best things in life are worth waiting for. Don’t seek instant pleasure and satisfaction in anything. Secret things can thrill; but they also kill. It is one moment’s thoughtless adventure but a lifelong journey down to the depths of hell.

So learn to see red. And when you see red, say NO.

Know that consequences are there for every stand you take and every move you make. But you have got everything to lose if you dance to the tune others play for you.

So stand strong. And be bold. A fierce lion-like stance once you say NO might be your only hope.

As a young girl, there is nothing you need to learn that is more important than the word NO. Always, keep it ready like an arrow pulled back on the string. Shoot it without a second thought.

It will hurt some; but it is worth the risk. For it is your safety that matters most. A glass jar; if it breaks might not just be the same even if you glue it back again. So be bold enough to say NO.

Let me conclude. Life is beautiful; but there is red everywhere. Trust in God; be bold, and say NO when you see red.

A Short Speech on Tomorrow

Tomorrow is what we are all worried about; isn’t it?
But what if there is no tomorrow?
Then, how would you like to spend today?

Life is not just about eating, drinking, and being merry.
But then you might add, “For tomorrow we die.”
Agreed.
That is a popular philosophy.
But what if life continues after death?

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Even in our earthly existence we know that all our tomorrows were shaped by what we all did yesterday; isn’t it? If all those actions had consequences; then definitely life when it moves beyond death is going to feel the impact of all your choices made today.

The one thing that can shape your tomorrows is whom you trust your tomorrows with? Some prefer to trust their tomorrows with their Banks; some others with people close to them. But some choose to trust God. This is often made fun of by others. Yet in the end, trusting God proves the wisest of all decisions you can make.

Some people make elaborate preparations for journeys. We don’t find people travelling long distances without making plans and arranging for a comfortable stay. But so many wait too long to prepare for eternity which stretches timelessly ahead. For those who delay to make a decision; tomorrow will spell darkness, no hope, no return, and no end to misery.

But to those who hope in God today, life becomes meaningful; because in God they find the LORD of their tomorrows. They realize that tomorrow is in God’s hands. And nothing can separate them from the love of God; not even death. Those who hope in God lose sight of tomorrow; instead they see the One who knows what tomorrow brings.

Say No to Suicide and YES to the Gift of Life Always!

Life is God’s gift to you. Do not nip it in the bud.

Life might not have been fair to you. But that is not reason enough to take your own life.

You might have made mistakes. Yet when you choose to live, you get a chance to redeem those mistakes made. But if you choose to end your life that is the biggest mistake you can make. You cannot undo it.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Do you say no one cares for you?  God  will not forsake you even if your father and mother forsakes you.

Even if a mother forgets the baby at her breast and has no compassion on the child she has borne, God says, “I will not forget you!”

He has loved you with an everlasting love. His unfailing love for you will not be shaken for he has compassion on you.*

Are you thinking about suicide because you think you are a failure? Wait a minute.  You can be a failure before the world and still be the apple of God’s eye*!  Life is not given to you to float down on the waters like a dead twig. Fight back and win in life.

My dear friend, thoughts of suicide can attack you at any time; sometimes without any reason at all. What should you do then?

Let me ask you what you would do if an ugly worm falls on you when you are standing under a tree? You will shake it away in disgust; won’t you? Yes that is what you should do with all negative thoughts; always! Brush them away. Do not entertain them. Do not lovingly spread a bed for them. Instead, kick them out!

If you have a friend share your struggle with him or her. Accept his or her love and care. Never deceive yourself by thinking that no one cares. It’s a lie!

My dear friend, you can come back from life’s defeats, loss of confidence and failures. Just hold on. The Bible says, “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”

Remember my friend, God loves you even if you don’t feel like it. Even when your problems seem so huge and unsolvable, he has a plan and purpose* for your life.

Sometimes you might have faced abuse, mental torture, and been the subject of jokes. You might be going through shame and guilt and feelings of worthlessness. Yes, I admit some memories are hard to erase.

Yet you can have a brand new beginning* in life! Choose Life. My friend, that doesn’t mean life is going to be easy, but life will  certainly be meaningful when you look forward with hope as God walks along with you!

Heart to Heart Speak with Troubled Teens

Teens, not surprisingly, is a time you commit many mistakes. Some of them are painful, some others embarrassing. Do not worry too much about what others think about you. Know that you are significant and have great value in God’s eyes. Some of his best selections are those who are failures in the world’s estimate. So do not despair.

Teens, is a time of yearning to be loved and respected. Love is mostly a feeling, an emotion, a sudden unexplainable connect with someone for most teens. Yet love is more than anything of these. Closely associated with love is respect. A safety line that can be drawn is not to trust anyone who does not respect your private or personal space.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Love that makes demands, love that manipulates,
love that tries to control, love that puts pressure on you to yield,
love that compares you to someone else,
love that demeans your dignity as an individual
and treats you like an object, exhibit or commodity,
love that bargains to make deals—these cannot be called love.
They are a cheap imitation, and at its worst, deception.

Teens, for some at least, is a time of heartbreaks. Broken promises, lies and deception, the luring world of instant messaging, cheating, rejection, having someone dump you are all sadly common. If you have been at the receiving end, do not think about yourself a failure. It is time to focus, have new dreams, and start working towards worthy goals in life.

Finally, if no one else is there to listen to you, God is there. When you feel worthless, when your thoughts like wild horses on the gallop uncontrollably go, when thoughts of suicide come, when others forsake you, make fun of you, and give up on you, you still have God. Teens, God loves you You will find acceptance with him just as you are. Always. God is near, much nearer to you than the breath you breathe.

A Short Speech on Love ❤️

L❤️ve!

Red Lighted Candles Christmas GiftAt the sound of this one word, some hearts flutter, some others skip a beat. There is rush of adrenaline for some; others blush.

Love, surprisingly, has been equated with emotions. But is it all that is there to it? Emotions keep changing; don’t they? Today, you feel madly in love with someone; when the sun rises the next day you wonder where all the “love” you felt yesterday has gone; don’t you?

Blood Jesus Cleanse

So love does not properly belong to the realm of emotions; though emotions do colour our love with all kinds of splashes. Then what is love?

It is basically a decision to hold the other person in the highest esteem, value him or her above all else, and cherish that person like no other and hold him or her so close and dear to one’s heart.

Love is not about getting; it is about giving.
Love is not about selfishness; it is about sacrifice.
Love is not about being on top of the charts; it is about humility, the willingness to serve.
Love is not about bragging; it is about doing things for the other without advertising.
Love is not about covering up evil; it is about being transparent and living in the light.
Love is not about falsehood; it is about speaking the truth.

Love is not static; it grows. The love of a parent for a child grows along with years; the love of a husband for his wife ideally should grow along with years and vice versa. The limitless potential for growth, for discovery, for being surprised, for finding joy in little things, are all what makes love, love.

Finally, we cannot think on love without thinking of God. The well known passage in the Bible speaks about love in this compelling way: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”*

Not one of us can earn this love; but each one of us can respond to the love of Jesus who bled and died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

So love is a response as well. Wishing you an ever-increasing capacity to respond to God’s everlasting love for you, the love of the members of your family, your friends and colleagues, and all those whom you come into contact with. At times when you respond in love to hate and evil behaviour, the other is also constrained to love!

A Short Speech for School Children on Time, Space, and Eternity!

Life is
limited by time,
happening in space,
and destined for eternity.

Let me explore Time, Space, and Eternity one by one.

First of all Time is the stuff life on earth is made of. Though 24 hours is equally made available to all, the length of years one lives is beyond the scope of man to determine.

Time given is best utilized when one realizes that life has a purpose on earth and it has been God-ordained.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Secondly, Space is the platform on which life happens. Earth is just a tiny speck of dust; a blue and white jewel in the endless galaxies and stellar regions of space.

The stars shining at night are a constant reminder that life on earth is no accident and it has been God-designed in wisdom and sustained by his mighty power!

It is when you think of the vastness of space and its endless wonders that you cannot but exclaim with the Hebrew poet, “What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?”*

Thirdly, God has set eternity in the hearts of men. Death is by no means the end of life.

It just reminds us that we are accountable to God for all our thoughts, words and deeds. There is definitely a judgment day.

Life becomes meaningful when it is lived in the perspective of eternity. What determines the quality of life in eternity are the choices we make here and now.

Life we live on earth is just a preparation; and what we sow here is reaped for ever and ever.

Let me conclude. In the light of what was spoken about Time, Space, and Eternity, go throw a pebble into the still waters of a pond and see what happens!

Isn’t there more to life than what you have seen so far? Truly,

“No eye has see,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him.”

God Loves You! The 1 Minute Speech You Always Wished to Hear!

God loves you!

Red Lighted Candles Christmas GiftIn your worst moment; he still loves you.

Today;

You might feel like giving up.
But hold on; for he will not give up on you.

You might want to hide from him.
But he knows all about what you did already.

You might count yourself a failure.
But he looks at you and sees what you can be.

You might think you are unlovable.
But he came to touch the untouchables.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

You might think you are of no worth.
But the cross where Jesus shed his blood and died says that you are worth dying for.

You might have your doubts;
but the love of God never fails.
He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Today, you failed.
But trust in God; tomorrow you will be firm and immovable like a rock.

Yes, my friend, God loves you. It is an undying love; an everlasting love. He loves you not because you deserve his love; but because he decided to love you even before you were born.

What greater love do you know than you being called a child of God! It is true. You became God’s child when you trusted in him.

Love has been lavished on you.

You might say you have sinned against him much. Let that be true. But the greater truth is you’ve been forgiven much.

Will you love him less?

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!”

2 Minute Speech for Children on Ambition Is the Key to Success

Red Lighted Candles Christmas GiftAmbition is the burning desire that enables you to achieve your goals in life. Without ambition no one has ever succeeded. Therefore it is important to have a healthy ambition in life.

Ambition keeps you motivated. So many people are like a football. They need to be kicked to move forward. But people with ambition are fuelled from within and fires forward like a rocket.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Again, ambition helps you to have a fighting attitude. See, life is no easy game; neither is it a fairy tale ending minus all the hardships that go before it. Defeats, failures, mistakes, setbacks, criticism, and opposition are plenty in the lives of all achievers. But it is ambition to achieve that helps them move on in spite of all this.

A distinction to be made however is between ambition and wishful thinking. So many people live in fool’s paradise thinking that they have great ambition. But when you question them, you will soon know that they are simply living on borrowed motivation. They are not realistic nor are they prepared to count the cost of high achievement.

You Can Find Success God’s Way

Yet again, ambition can be spurred on by knowledge. Those who are driven by ambition are those who get maximum available information about where they are heading to? Do you think Christopher Columbus set out on his ambitious voyages without available maps, compass, and seasoned sailors? Unthinkable, isn’t it?

Finally, the ambitious ones always aim high. They are like eagles that soar high. Lesser things of life do not distract them. They do not waste time in frivolities nor do they take pleasure in finding fault with others. Instead, they discipline themselves to harness their full potential and resources to achieve greatness in life.

What  Gladys Aylward, the British Missionary to China said, is relevant in this context. She said: “The eagle that soars in the upper air does not worry itself how it is to cross rivers.”

Therefore you will find that those with ambition are in passionate love with excellence. And when it is rooted in strong character, they are unstoppable. That is why the world stands in admiration when the ambitious record wins, stand on top of summits, and touch the skies in their upward flight.

A Short Speech on the 7 Best Things to Teach Your Child

The first thing to teach your child is to look up at a clear night sky. And not bent down his/her head on to mobile screens. Ask him/her to wonder about the star-studded sky. Let him/her think, how did it all come there? Who is behind it all? What holds it together?

Blood Jesus Cleanse

The second thing is to teach your child to speak the truth always. Tell him/her mistakes happen to all good men and women. Ask him/her to take responsibility for them. Teach him/her that it takes courage to speak the truth.

The third thing to teach your child is to keep trying. It is up to us parents to motivate a child to keep on attempting to do things. There is lot of truth in the saying, “Try again and again until you succeed.”

The fourth thing to teach your child is the value of patience. A child thinks that good things are his/hers automatically for the asking. Teach him/her that he/she needs to learn to wait and be patient for good things to come his/her way.

The fifth thing to teach your child is how to fail. Tell him/her not to consider himself/herself as a failure even if others label him/her so. Teach him/her that more learning happens through failures than successes. Let him/her know that there is nothing to be ashamed about failure if he/she has given his/her best effort.

The sixth thing to teach your child is never to lose hope. Teach a child to say NO to despair. Tell him/her not to worry for he/she has a heavenly Father watching over him/her. Let him/her learn that even after the darkest night the sun will rise.

The seventh thing to teach your child is to strive for excellence in thought, speech, and action. Tell him/her to persevere in the good and noble pursuits of life, career, hobbies, and relationships. Let him/her learn to never lower his/her standards.

Finally, I cannot say, there is nothing more to teach a child. For there are lots more like habits, respect, character etc. But if you ask me to add one more; it will be the importance of discipline in life. Teach him/her to discipline himself/herself to have a worthy purpose in life. Let him/her know that it is not the beginning that counts but how one finishes well in life. Let him/her discipline himself/herself with the thought of touching the finishing tape on a note of triumph.

These are not all; but even if these are all, it will yield sweet fruit for all the toil and labour and hard work that your child will have put in to succeed in life. A thankful heart, without doubt, will make it taste all the more sweet.

A Speech for Children on Self-Control

Self-control is not a popular term with teens; but freedom is. Now freedom in excess without restrictions makes people slaves to whatever has mastered them.

So there is a responsibility on your part to exercise self-control. It can be in many areas.

One, exercise self-control in the area of speech. Too much talk can make you lose respect with teachers and elderly. It can create conflicts and quarrels with the best of friends.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Two, exercise self-control in the area of relationships. You cannot take advantage of others and expect to live a happy life. Avoiding haste in getting involved in relationships, maintaining purity in motives, and treating others with kindness instead of becoming judgmental; are all measures of self-control.

Three, exercise self-control in the area of food. Eating is necessary to live, but living to eat is yet another matter. Junk food is everywhere. When food is made a god, bad eating and drinking habits can prove harmful.

Four, exercise self-control in the area of social media. Do not spend too much time in it. Remember all your digital footprints are tracked. There is no escape. And do not be naive and reveal your personal information on social media.

Five, exercise self-control in money matters. Do not fall into the living on credit cards trap. Do not not spend lavishly on non-essentials. Money is so uncertain; there a hundred different ways through which a rich man can become penniless.

Six, exercise self-control in management of time. We are all given 24 hours a day. But no one knows for how long. Reduce time you spend for entertainment and try to live life in a purposeful manner. If you can utilize 15 minutes a day to learn a new skill, think about what difference it can make in your life and career.

Seven, and finally, exercise self-control in your thoughts. No one can read your mind but your eyes and face will bear the marks of what you think. Imagination is a wonderful gift; but make every effort to think on the lovely and the pure.* Try to think on achieving excellence. Do not leave your mind empty but fill it with good thoughts, reading great books, and generate ideas along with friends.

There are many other areas where one can learn to exercise self control. “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls,”* says the Bible. So discipline yourself. Exercise self-control. If not, your mind and behaviour will be like untamed horses running wild in the woods!

*Philippians 4:8, Proverbs 25:28 Bible.

1 Minute Speech on Who Is My Role Model?

Red Lighted Candles Christmas GiftHi friends,

A role model is a person whom I can look up to; learn from, and imitate. I can also be inspired to succeed the way he or she has done in his or her life.

A role model can be my father or mother; it can be my teacher, my best friend, a sports personality or a leader in my neighbourhood or community. What makes a role model impact my life is not the position he or she holds; but the positive influence and the way he or she sets an example by his or her behaviour, speech and courageous action.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Now we need to note that we either consciously choose role models or sometimes we are influenced by them without our even knowing it.

So just ask yourself this question, “Who am I looking up to as a standard of behaviour, and reference point to emulate or follow?” The next question to ask yourself is “What makes his or her life a success?” Once you have identified those elements like honesty, discipline or courage; the third question to ask is, “What character traits of that person can I copy, implement, and reproduce in my life so that I too can shine a light for others?”

Again, a role model is one who brings about a positive change in me. He or she is someone whom I can relate to in my struggles as well as my dreams.

Personally, I have had not one; but many role models in my life. At each stage of life’s journey I have looked up to someone for motivation to live life better.

If I look at them close; they may not be perfect but there is something good about them which makes me respect and admire them and also push myself to excel in life.

Surprisingly, many role models that I have had are not public figures, but unsung heroes and heroines whose lives shone a bright light for me!

2 Minute Speech for Students on Friendship

Red Lighted Candles Christmas GiftHi friends,

If you have got one true friend, you are rich.
If you have got two, you are a billionaire.
If you say, you have more; you know nothing about friendship.
Well, you may not agree. But good friends are rare.

Friends are, I believe, God’s priceless gifts to us.
Valuing, cherishing, nurturing, and maintaining friendship is the way we say “thank you” for what has been gifted to us.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Friendship primarily is a relationship. It is based on love, acceptance, and mutual respect.
That means you love not to get something out of your friend, but to give the best you have.
That means you accept your friend with all his goodness and shortcomings as well.
Beyond all this it is a relationship that seeks to honour your friend and never take him for granted.

Friendship again is an investment. It takes time to build good friendships.
You need to invest quality time with your friend on a regular basis.
Social media can help; but is never a substitute for face to face interaction.
Time that you get in your school and college days will never come back.
So utilize that to the maximum to build a solid foundation so that after graduation when you move out for work, you still have a huge deposit of memories, of conversations, and of good things you did together with your friend.

Friendship can also be a reflection.
A good friend is a mirror that reflects who you truly are.
It does not hide what is ugly, what is marred, and what is lacking in you.
It speaks truth.
In the words of King Solomon, “Wounds from a friend can be trusted; but an enemy multiplies kisses.”*

Friendship, again, is a bridge-building exercise.
Not always will you find your friend at his best.
Not always will you find him meeting your demands on his time, talent, or resources.
There will be times when he misunderstands you.

But one thing I have learned to do in those tough times is to think of the best things he has been to me.
It is in those challenging times that I deliberately focus on the kindnesses he has shown me in the past.
And then my heart warms up again.

Within no time I take the initiative to make a call and talk.
And it is good old times back again.

Life is too short.
If God has given you good friends, thank God for them.
Value them, cherish them, be loyal to them, and above all, remember them in your daily prayers.

If you are yet to create good friendships, choose them carefully.
Charm can be deceptive; beauty fleeting; handsomeness can turn ugly when you get close; and smiling faces can be masks whose paint washes off in the first rain.
So be warned; choose your friends carefully.
For a friend can build you up strong like a stone fortress or give you a massive pull down a black hole.

Finally, let me conclude by saying that a good friend brings out the best in you.
He does not yield to your stories of defeat and despair.
Instead he motivates you to be the best God wanted you to be.
So thank God for your friend who holds you true to your God-given purpose in life. Thank you.

A Short Speech How to Find Hope When Situations Look Hopeless!

Have you ever woken up with a heavy heart?

It could have been the mistakes of the previous day or the seeming hopelessness of a present situation that weighed you down then; perhaps even this day. I do not have any easy solution to your problem. But I can point you in the right direction.

The Bible declares that God’s compassions never fail; they are new every morning.*

Blood Jesus Cleanse

This can be the basis of your hope. You can lean heavily on the compassion of God. Each day it is supplied afresh. The one thing you need to do is not to look at what is going happen tomorrow. His supply for tomorrow will not be lacking; that is all you need to know.

Well, you might be hesitant to come to God. You might feel like a beggar in tattered clothes standing outside a big mansion where a wealthy merchant is giving a feast. You feel unworthy.

But then if that is the picture you have in mind about God, you are thoroughly mistaken. Jesus made it clear that he came to call sinners to repentance (and not the righteous). He also said that it is the sick who need the doctor (and not the healthy).*

He is compassionate to you today. He is calling you. He simply says, “Come to me.”* The invitation is to himself and not to any agenda, programme, or even a Church.

God has not forgotten you.
He will not forsake you.
He will see that your needs are met.
He is gently whispering peace into your troubled mind.
His love does not ask questions about your failures; he simply asks you to come to him.

Will you just ask God to help you?
It can even be a prayer in your heart.
No words are required. When you cry out, “Help me O God,” he will.
But first, he will answer your heart with hope. He will put courage in your heart.*

You might not see any immediate change in your situation. But the change has already happened in your heart. Can you not feel hope rising in your heart? If it is God in whom you trust, you will not be disappointed!*

God Give You the Grace to Overflow with Hope

A Short Speech on Falling, Failing, and Rising Up!

Hi friends,

No two people are alike.
No two people succeed alike.
And it follows that no two people fail alike.

Now if you have fallen, whatever it be, there are two choices for you:
One is to stay defeated.
Choice number two is to rise up.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Now if you choose to rise up, there are several possibilities.
You can stand up on your own or you can ask someone to help you.
Beyond all this you can trust God to lift you up.

Again, defeats can make you feel good for nothing;
it can make you focus on yourself which ends in self-pity;
it can make you angry at others and cause you to curse circumstances;
and it can even make you resign yourself to whatever has happened.
None of these attitudes does anyone any good; the least of all to you.

So embrace light instead of wooing darkness.
Be honest with yourself.
The simplest thing you can do is to stop telling excuses.
Accept responsibility for your fall.
Make a commitment to try once more.

There is no magic formula for success.
If I know one, it is perseverance.
That means you keep on doing what you are good at in spite of all defeats,
failures, shortcomings, mistakes and predictions of doom.

At the same time you can hold on to God in hope.
Here is how Prophet Micah expressed this.

“Do not gloat over me, my enemy!Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light (Micah 7:8 Bible).”

So dear friends, let not your defeat discourage you.
Avoid distractions and focus on the task ahead.
God loves you not because you succeed all the time.
He knows what is in your heart.
He knows what your motives are.
He knows that you tried your very best; but failed.

The way he calculates points is entirely different from the way we evaluate and judge our own performances. His final analysis is about whether you loved him with all your heart and soul and mind and strength. If you tried and failed; he still accepts you.

Now if you are looking for one word of assurance, one word of encouragement that will lift you up from your bed of despair, this is it. God is telling you,

“See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands

–(Isaiah 49:16 Bible).”
To be engraved means to be remembered always.
To be engraved means to be held by the mighty and strong hand of God.
To be engraved means to permanently belong.
To be engraved, again, means that no one can snatch you out of God’s hand.*

You are his, precious child of God.
Do not let defeats and failures throw you down.
Stand up. And move on.
Accept the forgiveness of God.
Rise up to succeed!

2 Minute Speech on Social Media–the Little Foxes that Ruin the Vineyards!

In the love poems by King Solomon known as Song of Solomon or Song of Songs, he speaks about a Lover and his Beloved.

While they converse with each other, with growing love and anticipation of their wedding, the beloved says, “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom (SOS 2:15).”

Written over 3000 years ago, the little foxes are more real today than ever. What greater threat can you find eroding marriages than social media and networking like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.?

Blood Jesus Cleanse

First of all, the time people spent on it everyday is enormous. It need not happen in big chunks. But the anxiety to just have a look at latest posts and see what is happening with others steals away time–valuable time–in short bouts. Time that should be spend on nurturing relationships within the family and taking care of the well-being of its members is wasted away like this.

Secondly, the ease of use of these kind of media make people cross boundaries easily without any feeling of guilt. Today, morality is becoming more and more relative than following absolute God-commanded standards. The saddest part is that people fail to realize boundaries are drawn to keep you safe from harm. Social media gives many the thrill of intimacy without responsibility; and secret enjoyment of forbidden fruit without much fear of being caught.

Finally, social media makes people lose perspective. The virtual world can never substitute the real. But for those who indulge in it, life seems rosier; and the grass looks greener on the other side. This makes people devalue their own husbands and wives as they suddenly find fault with them by the hundreds. Love is suddenly absent. Unfavourable comparisons are the little foxes here. Sadly those who are lured by the charming chats forget that virtual relationships and flirting are no less sinful than real; and will sap their life and drain their vitality away from them.

So what’s the big deal here? Nothing if life is just fun alone. But life is not without accountability. When it comes to that, what if all your chats are made a public spectacle to the entire humanity? Like digital footprints you leave behind everywhere you browse; all your moral looseness is also leaving its unerasable prints that are irreversibly recorded. When that day of accountability and judgement comes you will remember the folly of not having caught the little foxes that had ruined your vineyards!

“It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgement” — Hebrews 9:27 Bible.

1 Minute Speech on Living Your Life with Purpose

A life with purpose is one which looks with intense focus and passion on the goal. It defies all odds and comes back from all setbacks in the pursuit of the same.

It rises out of depths of despair; often clinging on to God in moments when strength gives out. It is energized by a single-eyed determination and a burning desire to excel.

It does not allow oneself to be distracted by the frivolous and the silly. Purpose enables one to be decisive in action, judicious in the use of time, wise in investments of talent and treasure, and cautious in friendship.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

It is only when one is driven by purpose that one will persevere till the end. A purpose driven life knows where it is headed to; and in the first place why it is travelling to that destination.

Even when all other rewards are taken away; even when all others oppose, mock or reject; even when nothing else is there to be gained but only the joy of doing what one is called to do; a man or woman with purpose will remain true and faithful to it.

When life is dominated by purpose, there is no time to be wasted in answering critics, no time to wallow in self-pity licking the wounds of battle and no time to scatter away wishing “What might have been!”

When purpose takes hold, it knows how brief life is and with what speed and finality windows of opportunity will shut tight. Therefore it will act and will not rest till the matter at hand is done.

Aimless drifting is one sure sign that your sail has not caught the wind. If you are driven by purpose, life will never find you unprepared. Now is the opportunity and it is never too late.

It is not just the take off nor the flying that matters; but what counts is how you land finally. When you look back, hope you will be able to find many lives impacted  just because you stayed good and true to your purpose.

“There are two great days in a person’s life–the day we are born and the day we discover why.”

— William Barclay

The LORD declares:

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

–(Isaiah 55:9–11) [Emphasis added].

2 Minute Speech on Success–Aim High Is What I Want to Tell You!

What helps you succeed? So many elements that contribute to success might have crossed your mind in the twinkling of an eye; haven’t they? Let me just pick one among them all. It happens to be one of my favourites. It is the ability to aim high.

But we find many people content to fly low in life. They sadly miss the chance to live life to the fullest. Therefore the question is, what prevents people from aiming high? Let me just quickly sketch a few points.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

First of all, people do not aim high because they are afraid of their own success.

It might be a startling statement. But it is true. I have met many who thought that to succeed is a crime. To them, success meant that they are somehow stealing someone else’s opportunity.

But that is not true. This world is a big place and God has created a space for you and for me. It is only when you do not use your full potential and do not try to understand the purpose for which you have been created; it is then that you betray your calling in life.

So aim high and be the best you can be.

Secondly, people do not aim high because they are afraid to fail.

See, the problem lies in how you look at failure. If you see it as the worst that can happen; then you are finished. You lose even before you start to fight. That is a defeatist attitude and most negative.

Dear friend, stop worrying about what others will think when you fail. That is their problem; not yours. Unless you try, how can you exercise your God-gifted potential? If you look at yourself honestly; you are carrying a gold mine within you and living like a beggar. Who is to blame? I hope you got the answer.

So aim high and be the best you can be.

Finally, people do not aim high because they think that they are not significant.

Oh, how it disheartens me to see so many choose to stay behind the curtains and on the side benches without taking an active part in the drama and game of life! Dear friend, never fall into the comparison trap. The world will always try to make you feel inferior. Do not buy into that lie even for a moment.

For God has created you unique. There is nobody on planet Earth like you. With all your shortcomings you can still contribute much to the lives of others. Stop thinking about yourself alone. You can be the lifeline to many others who are in despair and in darkness.

So aim high and be the best you can be.

Let me conclude. Never fly low. I repeat it again; never fly low.

Like the law of gravity; negatives will always be around you trying to pull you down. But there is a higher law of flight and freedom that leads to joyous achievement.

I cannot but quote those famous words from Prophet Isaiah who said:

“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles . . .”*

This is your true destiny. To rise from your bed of despair and hopelessness and aim high. Look at the vast blue expanse of the skies. Isn’t there a stirring in your heart; a longing to soar high?

So aim high and be the best you can be.

1 Minute Speech on the Meaning of God with Us

When Jesus was born he was called Immanuel meaning God with us. Can God be so ordinary? Can God be human? Incredible!

Yet God chose to humble himself to be a servant of men. This is one meaning of God with us. God stood with us in our brokenness. Well, some of you might think we are OK. Really! Is it true?

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Just look around you. The kind of broken hearts and tears you find everywhere. God came to experience all this firsthand. No longer can you tell God, “You don’t understand!”

If you still feel like saying so, God will not find fault with you. In fact, there is more welcome at the throne room of God for honest telling of what you feel like. If you are angry at God, tell him so. He will patiently listen.

Yet he will point you to a Man lifted up on a hill between earth and sky, naked and bleeding on a cross with a crown of thorns on his head. An inscription above his head read, Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.

And God will say to you that there he carried your sorrows and was broken for you. Looking at that Man you will find peace. For the punishment of your sins that should have fallen on you fell on him who was innocent. He carried it all for you.

God therefore is no longer far away. He is near. He understands. For he once was Man. This my friends is the sure hope on which you can live: God with us!

A Christmas Message for School Children

Respected Principal, honoured guests, beloved teachers, and my dear friends,

Good morning to one and all.

Let me first of all thank God as well as the Principal of the School for giving me this opportunity to speak to you on Christmas. I wish to talk to you about the meaning of gifts during Christmas.

Christmas is a beautiful time of the year when family and friends come together. And gifts are exchanged. One group that is always excited at Christmas are children. This is because children love gifts. They look forward to receive gifts during this time of the year. In fact, it is this sense of expectation that makes Christmas special.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

Let me tell you how gifts can make Christmas special. There was a lovely young husband and wife who were poor. Both of them, Jim and Della, loved each other dearly. As Christmas came near both of them secretly thought about gifting each other with a lovely Christmas gift. But they did not have much money.

Della had long and beautiful hair. So Jim thought of buying her a beautiful hair clip. Della saw that the strap of Jim’s watch was broken. So she thought of buying him a watch strap. And on Christmas Eve both of them wished each other Happy Christmas and gave the gifts to each other.

But children there were tears in both their eyes. Do you know why? It was because Della had cut her long hair and sold it to get money to buy Jim a watch strap. And Jim had sold his watch to buy Della a hair clip.

This spirit of sacrifice is the true meaning of Christmas as this classic short story from O. Henry highlights. Likewise, it was not easy for God to send his Son Jesus to this world. It was a sacrifice. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Therefore let us celebrate Christmas by thanking God for his indescribable gift—the gift of God’s Son Jesus!

Remember my dear children; he came just for you and for me!

Let me also tell you the story of a young boy who was an orphan. He was poor. During Christmas time he used to go to the street and watch the lovely gifts displayed inside shops. He would press his nose against the glass to have a closer look.

But he was sad because there was no one to give him a gift. One day, he saw a small cat on the road. He also saw a car coming against it. On seeing this the boy jumped in front of the car and saved the cat. But the car hit him. And he was taken to hospital.

There was a good nurse who took care of him. On Christmas day she gifted him with a toy. The boy opened the packet and found a toy train inside it. The nurse asked him, “Do you like it?”

The boy with great joy cried out: “There is no glass between.” Saying so he put the toy train close to his heart. See how happy he was when he had a toy for himself.

Dear children, may God gift you with the real joy of finding Jesus this Christmas. So that you too can say with this boy, “Now there is no glass between;  I too have found the true joy of Christmas.”

Finally, during Christmas time we remember the journey of the Wise Men who came from far way to worship baby Jesus. They had seen a star and travelled from far away to meet Jesus. And when the star led them to Jesus, they gave gifts of gold and myrrh and incense to Jesus. That is why in remembrance of their act of worship we also give gifts to each other during Christmas.

So think about it. When you meet Jesus, what will be the gift you wish to give him? I am sure Jesus will be happy to see your love towards him more than anything else. So try to love Jesus more this Christmas.

Wish all of you a blessed Christmas and a prosperous new year. Thank you.

1 Minute Speech on Temptation!

I was watching a fancy dress program at my kids’ school a few days ago. A five -year old dressed as an old lady was hobbling along the stage with the aid of a stick. She looked very realistic.

Suddenly she saw someone at the far end of the stage holding out a chocolate to her. At that moment, totally forgetting the situation, she rushed to grab the chocolate! Watching the rest of the participants perform, I have no doubt that she would have easily been voted the best of the participants otherwise.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

What made her do so? Temptation.

Temptation. It often comes right at the path of your duty. One way to escape it is to be prepared. Do not let temptations take you by surprise.

Temptation. The moment you allow curiosity to take the first bite; you are finished. The moment you think it is safe to step inside a lion’s cage to take a selfie; even your bones will not be recovered.

Temptation. The longer it knocks at your door, the more bold you should be that you can overcome it. It is because you are still safely locked in. However great and furious the knock or pleading just say NO.

Temptation. It has great power when it comes through your friends. The possibility that they might reject you or make fun of you can unnerve you. It is good to be called names rather than to slip into a lifetime of misery and regret.

Temptation. It often defeats you when you stay a moment longer at spots you are not supposed to be. Run away. And do not look back for that second glance. Guard your eyes. Let it not look at evil and have your hearts hooked by what you see.

Temptation. It can come in many subtle and glamorous forms.
Temptation that is not attractive;
that doesn’t have a tinge of pleasure in it;
that does not give you a momentary satisfaction cannot be called temptation.

The danger about temptation is that it makes you think only of instant gratification and not about long-term and far reaching consequences, guilt, shame, remorse, ridicule and the burden of sin that you need to face or carry.

Ultimately the only absolute defence against temptation that I know is God. Call out to him for help. A sincere heart prayer and cry from a broken and contrite heart is always heard and answered.

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10 Bible NIV).

Jesus of Nazareth Our Burden-Bearer

A burden becomes too heavy to carry at times.

It is at those moments that you look for someone who has passed through such trouble to come and be with you. Perhaps speak an encouraging word. For only those who have experienced what you are going through can offer any help.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

It is at this point our burden-bearer stands at life’s difficult hours and crossroads. The man who “was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering!”1

Not only does he understand pain and grief, he knows what it is to weep. He knows what it is to carry the greatest burden of mankind—the burden of sin and its accompanying guilt and shame.

The Saviour—the Man Jesus Christ of Nazareth who lived in an earthly home and was a carpenter earning his daily bread. He who was moved with compassion and met the needs of distressed individuals like no other man ever did!

He bled to death on a cross. But now he lives forever more to carry our burdens.

He can help. He is willing to. One cry for mercy from your heart, “O God help me!” is enough for his help to reach you.

He calls you his friend. More than that, he calls you, “My brother, my sister.”

He who carried the cross will willingly carry your burden as well. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”2 That is his call and invitation.

Come. Won’t you?

“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Saviour, who daily bears our burdens” — Psalm 68:19
Because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” — Hebrews 13:5, 6.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9.
“For we do not have a high priest [Jesus] who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” — Hebrews 4:15, 16.

Run! Life Is a Race!

This post is dedicated to the memory of Eric Lidell, the Flying Scotsman, who won the gold medal in the 400 metres race in the 1924 Paris Olympics. His athletic achievements have been chronicled in the Oscar winning movie Chariots of Fire which was released in 1981. Eric Liddell refused to run the 100 metres, the event he was expected to win, because the heats were scheduled for a Sunday, the day he had dedicated to worship God. He was called a traitor in his country but he cared more for the honour of God than winning a medal for the king.

Even though Eric Liddel had turned his back on his favourite event, he focused on the four hundred meters and trained for it. At the start of the finals of the event he went around shaking hands with all his competitors. And then, as shown in the movie, someone ran to his side and placed on his hand a folded square of paper. As he unfolded it, he found these words written on it: It says in the old book, “He that honours me, I will honour.” It was a verse from the Bible. And when the race began, Liddell starting from the outer lane simply ran fast as if he were running for his life. And came out first in world record time.

A little over a year, he just disappeared from the limelight by going to China as a missionary teacher with the good news of Jesus, to the land where he was born to missionary parents. During the Second World War he was interned in a camp by the invading Japanese and was held in a compound which housed more than one thousand five hundred foreign residents of China. He spent the rest of his life by having Bible studies, taking classes on chemistry for the youngsters there, organizing games for them, and even carrying water for the sick and the elderly. He died of an inoperable brain tumor at the young age of 43. His body was buried and a simple wooden cross put up with his name Eric Liddell written with boot polish.

Eric Liddell’s life has inspired many athletes including some gold medal winners in the Olympics in later years. I have dedicated this podcast to his memory because of the tremendous inspiration his life has been to me. May his life be an inspiration to you too to run the race of life well and finish on a note of glory.

Run! Life Is a Race!

If life is a race, you have to run. Staying still is not progress. It does not matter if others get distracted and do not focus on the race. You need to keep on running forward.

If life is a race, the destination is ahead. You cannot run if you keep looking back. An occasional backward glance can help you know how much distance you have covered already. But look ahead and run. Forget the past.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

If life is a race, you have to run with patience as well as perseverance. Train yourself early to endure hardships. Then you can discipline yourself to run the long distance of life.

If life is a race, you should know the goal towards which you run. Otherwise it is a meaningless run. Run so as to win the prize.

If life is a race, at some point joy comes from helping others to run and succeed in life as well. Even though you run to win, many of your friends need your encouragement. Remember that.

If life is a race, and you did not know it, there is still time even though time is short. The one who starts late still has a chance to be rewarded. So it doesn’t matter if you were slow to start. Success comes even to those who started late.

If life is a race, make sure that you finish. Do not yield to despair or be discouraged. Be strong. Know that God will act for those who trust in him. He will bring to completion what he has begun to do in your life. There is glory awaiting you beyond the finishing tape!

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us”– Hebrews 12:1z Bible.

“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” — St. Paul (Philippians 3:13, 14 Bible NIV).

Christmas Is the Joy of Lost and Found! Is That Someone You?

Have you ever been lost somewhere in a crowd? And you had to wait anxiously for someone to come and find you out. Then you might have experienced the joy of someone coming in search of you and finding you.

What a relief to know that you were thought about and not forgotten. What a joy to know that someone cared. What good news is it to be reminded that you belong to someone.

Blood Jesus Cleanse

It is in this sense that Christmas is good news of great joy to all the people. It simply tells us that God remembers each one of us. It tells us that none of us is forgotten. It reminds us that in spite of all our failures, mistakes and sins; God is ready to clean up the mess. He is willing to dirty his hands to give us a new life in his Son Jesus.

This is the story of Christmas. This is the good news that God came down to us in Jesus Christ. He came as a baby; a child who came to sacrifice his life by shedding his blood on the cross for all mankind. Through this sacrifice, God is ready to forgive all who come to him and cleanse people of all sin and impurity.

No one is excluded from this joy. People of all tribes and nations, languages and cultures are welcome.

The true joy of Christmas is not in the festivity of the season. It is not to be found in gifts and stars, cake and wine, new dress and carols and Christmas trees and Christmas cards and Santa Claus.

But the true joy of Christmas is that a Saviour came. And it is good news of great joy because it is for all the people of the world. God’s search for the lost continues and it will not end until his love finds you and gifts you the joy of salvation today.

And when God finds you and saves you; joy erupts and explodes in heaven for Jesus said there is great rejoicing in heaven and in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. So my friend, is that someone you?
