Sunday Sermonettes | What God Thinks of You Is Not What You Think of Yourself

It is amazing what God thinks of you when you are his child. You are God’s child when you trust that Jesus shed his blood on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins.

God Does Not See You as a Failure

When you think that you are a failure, God does not despise you. He does not give up on you. He does not break you and throw you away. He does not stamp out your flickering flame. Instead he looks at ways to fan into flame the smallest hope you have in him. He looks to make you strong.

God Rejoices Over You with Singing

Is a deep friendship with God possible? Yes over the years. For God rejoices over you with singing. That speaks of his delight in you. His love for you cannot be measured. It is not because of what you do for him, but because you have put your trust in Jesus.

God Is Not Measuring You by Your Past Mistakes

Is God thinking on your past and measuring you by your past failures? No. He wants you to get up each time you have fallen. He wishes that you lean on him more and more. Better still, ask him to hold you by his right hand of might and power.

God Overrules Your Wrong Choices

What if you have made foolish decision and choices! It might have hurt his heart.  But even those cannot prevent God from doing you good. For God has a plan and purpose for you.  Your mistakes can hinder the plan, derail it, delay it; but can never destroy it as long as you humble yourself before God and seek his face.

The Spirit of God Is Active in Your Life Now

The Spirit of God is hovering over the darkness in your life at the moment. He is mighty to save. He will act on your behalf and command his light to shine. Why? Because God is not the author of chaos but instead he creates praise on the lips of mourners. Yes, God delights in you. He will give you honour and comfort you once again.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9
