Sunday Sermonettes #054
The Moment I have Never Forgotten
When I had just passed out of college, I got a chance to watch the last reel of Jesus film being shown outdoors. It was night. Though I had gone to church from childhood, was familiar with the truth of the story in the Bible, the scene of Jesus’s crucifixion and burial brought a sense of deep sadness in me.
But then a few moments later as I saw the movie showing Jesus risen from the dead projected onto the white screen; it sent electric shocks from my head to my feet all through my body. I never have forgotten the power of the resurrection I felt that moment.

The Only One in Human History Changing Your Story
Jesus came back to life on the third day. His resurrection is your gateway of hope. It tells you that your life need not end with death. There is a morning coming when mourning gives way to joy exploding.
If you look to the blood of Jesus on the cross and know in your heart that it was for your sins and their forgiveness that he died; then the risen life of Jesus shall burst forth in power in your life.
It will help you realize that there is a higher life that you can live. The certainty of assurance that you are God’s child; the knowledge that death is not your final stop; the looking forward to meet your Saviour in glory; all this will flood your heart with radiant light.
His Risen Power in Your Life
Your life might not be easy. You might be going through difficult times right now. Sometimes you might doubt God’s love and question whether God really cares. But then hardships and suffering are times when we are truly weak. Yet those are moments when God chooses to reveal and make known his immense resurrection power in your life.
He is not defeated by your circumstances. The resurrection is the story of his victory. He is like a king that carries the spoils of war with him. He has triumphed over every thing that can pull you down. The secret of your victory is to plug in to his almighty power and great might.
Then like power coming back to a city sleeping in darkness; lights will awaken and shine forth in every area of your life that is waiting in patience and in hope for the touch of the Risen One, Jesus, incomparable, above all.
